    Referrals

    Patients must have a current referral from their General Practitioner (or another specialist) to claim a Medicare rebate for your consultation.

    Please ensure that you have either sent us this referral prior to your appointment or bring it with you on the day. It is also useful to bring any recent blood test results or X-Ray results that you have had. Bringing a list of current medications and supplements you are taking is also a good idea if you have trouble remembering them.

    For urgent referrals please have your GP or Specialist contact Dr Panicker directly.

    We also accept electronic referrals via Healthlink.

    Fees

    All accounts are required to be paid on the day of consultation, preferably by credit card. For patients with Medicare approximately 40 – 55% of the cost will be covered by Medicare. We have Medicare Online, hence your account will be sent electronically to Medicare immediately after payment and your rebate back into your nominated bank account usually within 1-2 business days. The remaining cost is not covered by Private Health Insurance. The fee reflects the cost of providing a specialist service in Perth, given that Medicare rebates have not kept pace with rising practice costs and in fact have been frozen for several years (see attachment). As fees may change for different services please ask my secretary what your fee will be for your consultation as you make your booking.
